J.D. Shelburne is southern rock mixed with mainstream country and authentic singer-songwriter musicianship at its finest. Counting Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, and Garth Brooks among his major influences, the Taylorsville, KY native's emotionally-driven playlist is laden with "songs from the heart, about the heart, vulnerable and honest." After a childhood in Taylorsville, KY listening to country music nonstop, he developed interest in guitar after the death of his dearest grandmother. Performing shows in his college town of Lexington, KY and nearby Louisville, KY, Shelburne arrived in Nashville one year ago as a performing hot country artist. He soon signed a production deal with Vice Productions and later teamed with noted producer Jeff Vice for his Nashville debut, which runs the gamut from the know-it-all attiude ballad "Long Enough to Know" to the up-tempo rocker "The Real Thing."
J.D. Shelburne has opened for Kellie Pickler, Steve Wariner, Adam Gregory, The Kentucky Headhunters, Joey & Rory, Daryl Worley, David Frizzell, Joe Nichols, John Michael Montgomery, Shannon Lawson, Halfway to Hazard & Juice Newton to name a few. The perfect country band for your entertainment.
His Nashville debut record will be released in Summer of 2009 and stardom is set to begin.
